Architectures of Bankstown proposes a new perspective into the intricate urban landscape of Bankstown as imagined by 21 Western Sydney University students. Featuring student proposals alongside professional architectural projects, this exhibition, produced in partnership with Bankstown Arts Centre, is a culmination of the third year of the Western Sydney University Urban Transformation Summer School, supported by Holdmark Property Group and Powerhouse. This annual intensive program involves a ‘think tank’ studio where students propose design solutions. This year, they investigated the rich multicultural urban centre of Bankstown, designing solutions that enhance social connectivity along the Appian Way that connects the Eastern and Western sides of Bankstown.
