Truth Unfolds in the Making 

We are defined by what we do. What we make, what we say, the connections that we make with people. I am trying to make something that will connect people. That will stimulate conversations that reveal people to each other. That will open hearts. That will foster true connections and understanding. 

These words are just my hope for what I would like to make, written before I have started. I am using found objects, in a way – material left over from previous use. A site specific work, built around curved seats good for sitting and talking. I am inspired by thoughts of interlaced fingers, interlinked arms, the ravens and ibis and cockatoos constantly flying around and chattering with each other, the limbs of the trees curving overhead like the arches of a sacred space. Each piece of bamboo placed is a new piece of information, building towards what the work eventually becomes. 

So we make our lives, one piece at a time. All meaning found comes from our individual experiences, built on our own framework of perception, what sense we have made of past events, and beliefs about ourselves constructed from what we think that other people think of us. 

The true meaning will only unfold in the making. 

So please sit inside and talk to someone. Use it as an opportunity to become closer, connect further, reveal truths, unfold yourself.
