Carve Your Own Stamp Workshop (Ages 16+)

Term 3 School Holiday Workshop

Friday 4 October, 1-3pm

Learn how to create your own rubber block stamp! Over the course of two hours, participants will design and carve a stamp to honour a robot friend from the past.

Robot friends crop up and disappear throughout our lives - that microwave with the dodgy door, your long-obsolete first phone, that long-dead Tamagotchi (RIP), the electric keyboard you learnt to play on. We mourn the passing of these friends, but at the end of their lives their robot bodies don’t get headstones, having been put into the red bin, listed on Facebook Marketplace, or simply forgotten somewhere in the garage.

In this workshop, make a record of your robot friends through carving a stamp, as carving and mark-making are ways that humans have preserved memory across time and generations.
